Teacher of literature-history and geography / English-letters / Spanish-letters

General objectives

This course is aimed at careers in vocational high schools, based on bivalence in general subjects (literature-history and geography, Spanish-letters and English-letters). It is primarily aimed at vocational lycée teachers. We should also add professions where knowledge of the conditions and practices of vocational education is required, or can serve as a basis for further professional development, such as adult education (languages and literature in particular). The versatility of the training allows for reorientation based on the general culture thus acquired.

Training content

This specialization takes the elements of general culture, knowledge of the education system, and analysis of professional situations offered by UEs dealing with the frame of reference, and inflects them in the direction of learning specifically linked to the professions being prepared. The course is demanding from the point of view of the two disciplines that make up the bivalence.

There are three competitive examinations to choose from during the Master's course:

  • CAPLP Lettres-Histoire
  • CAPLP English-Literature
  • CAPLP Spanish-Literature

Organization

This pathway is defined by teaching logics that are distinct from those of the general-education lycée. Its relationship with the professional world, the status of its students, and the strong presence of atypical educational backgrounds in these professions give it a specific identity.

The Master's degree is prepared face-to-face at the FDE, and a hybrid distance learning course (FADH) is being studied for the start of the 2021-2022 academic year. This will enable salaried candidates and/or those wishing to retrain in teaching to benefit from distance learning with a few face-to-face sessions at the Faculty of Education.

  • To enter M1 in one of the three courses, you need to have at least a bachelor's degree in one of the two teaching disciplines of the bivalent competitive examination chosen: Humanities, History, Art History, Geography, Spanish or English.
  • To register, please submit your CV and cover letter.
