Come and do a doctorate

class="img-responsive

You are a foreign student and would like to do a thesis at the Laboratoire Interdisciplinaire de Recherche en Didactique, Éducation et Formation(LIRDEF).

The laboratory is staffed by a secretary/manager and around 80 tenured and associate researchers, as well as some 40 PhD students.

The LIRDEF website provides useful information, including a list of university professors and HDR lecturers who can supervise theses. By looking at their personal pages, publications and scientific interests, you'll be able to better target your request to direct a thesis.

It should also be noted that in Doctoral School 58, the number of thesis supervisors is limited to 8, which means that teacher-researchers who are approached, sometimes in spite of themselves, have to decline proposals.

Entry to the doctorate program is possible under certain conditions:

  • proof of good work (minimum grade of 15/20) done in the Master's program (M2). This work enables us to identify prerequisites and avoid committing to a project that would be unfeasible.

  • acceptance of your thesis proposal (often renegotiated) by a professor or lecturer authorized to supervise research, possibly as a co-supervisor

  • a timetable and scientific orientations in line with potential directors' areas of study.

For your application to be considered, the following documents are required (in addition to your detailed CV):

  • A copy of your Master's degree or equivalent

  • A thesis and doctoral studies project in a single document (often around 5 to 10 pages)

  • A copy of your Master's thesis (or equivalent)
