The LIRDEF(Laboratoire Interdisciplinaire de Recherche en Didactique, Education, Formation) brings together some 50 teaching and research staff and hosts around 70 doctoral students.

It is structured around three research themes:

Education, politics, society

This axis questions and works on the education of the subject in its singularity but also in its different dimensions (political, historical, psychological, social, philosophical, etc.) according to the paradigm of complexity and in a context of ecological and political transitions that would lead our contemporary societies towards innovative, integrative, adaptive and participative models.

Knowledge-Practice-Didactics

The knowledge-practice-didactics axis is concerned with the production, dissemination and circulation of knowledge and practices within institutions... Most of the research carried out in this axis focuses on schools, but it also extends to other fields, whenever knowledge and/or practices are identified as being part of individual or collective construction, dissemination, transmission and/or acquisition.

Work, Training, Skills

With regard to occupations involving human interaction and/or certain occupations in the living world (...), this area explores work, both as a system of constraints, sometimes a source of suffering, and as one of the most important places for social existence and self-fulfilment. It also examines the place and nature of knowledge in training, and the ways in which trainees develop their practices and/or build up knowledge and reuse it in their practices.
