Faculty ofEducationManagement

The Faculty of Education (FDE) is one of the seventeen educational components of the University of Montpellier.

It offers multi-disciplinary, professional training in the fields of education, mediation, training and teaching. It offers complementary bachelor's and master's degree courses based on :

- the SEM (Sciences, Education, Mediation) bachelor's degree, which prepares students for careers in educational support, facilitation or mediation, with a focus on educational policies, or teaching-related careers designed to be inclusive and incorporate psychosocial skills;

- Master's degrees in Education and Training Sciences, and MEEF in Training Practices and Engineering. Structured around initial and continuing training courses, these are aimed at careers in animation, mediation and training.

Drawing on the legacy of the IUFM and its structuring partnership with the Montpellier academy's INSPE, it is implementing or planning to create, as of 2027:

- Licence LPE (Licence professorat des écoles) for the teaching profession;

- bachelor's degree courses for CPE (Conseiller principal d'éducation) professions

- M2E (Métiers de l'enseignement et de l'éducation) masters programs, which are gradually replacing the former MEEF courses.

The FDE is located at five sites (Carcassonne, Mende, Montpellier, Nîmes and Perpignan) and is committed to pedagogical and digital innovation, and to enhancing the links between research and training. Several of the master's courses have been integrated into the UM graduate school, facilitating the transition to doctoral research.
