Training linked to research

At the FDE, training is firmly linked to research in didactics, education and training, as well as in the history and epistemology of education. Its campus is home to the LIRDEF, to which 85% of its teacher-researchers belong, and the CEDRHE, directed by one of its PUs. This close-knit network fosters training in and through research.

It has developed financial and logistical support for research:

  • Organizing scientific events

  • Scientific papers or publications, including in foreign languages

  • Research Innovation Training Groups, to encourage innovation and make it a core component of training courses

  • Production of teaching and educational resources (the FDE is co-founder with Canopé of the BSD) and scientific publications (open-edition TREMA journal).

It organizes research and training seminars to develop the content and/or methods of research-based training. It is a prize-winner in six calls for educational innovation projects issued by the MUSE isite. Finally, it supports the development of doctoral research: it co-finances a doctoral contract and supports its teaching staff engaged in a thesis. In order to structure the whole, the department has created a deputy directorate (innovation, resources, research support, university teaching and continuing education).

Innovative and creative transformations

The FDE is undertaking an architectural transformation with the creation of learning laboratories. They are designed to be flexible and modular, with specially adapted furniture and a high level of technological equipment. These developments are essential for innovative, creative and collaborative practices(inverted and hybrid classes, video creation, imaginary workshops, meeting and exchange spaces, etc.).

Educational innovation through the airwaves

The development of a web radio station creates a dynamic ecosystem of educational innovation. Starting with the construction of knowledge by students, it aims to transform it into reliable and critical information content, broadcast weekly over the airwaves.

The FDE, in partnership with the Occitanie Region, is funding a doctoral contract. The research examines student life in balanced university towns. It should enable the FDE to evaluate and develop its territorial degree development program (bachelor's-master's continuum).
