Whether you’re just starting out or continuing your higher education, you’re joining the Faculty of Education and, through it, a vibrant and engaged community spread across five campuses: Carcassonne, Mende, Montpellier, Nîmes, and Perpignan. This geographic diversity is a great asset: it allows us to work closely with local communities, their institutions, and their partners, while ensuring a consistent, high-quality education for everyone.
This new academic year marks a new phase for our Faculty, with a revamped curriculum designed to better respond to changes in the field of education and the needs of local communities. This is reflected in an evolution of training for teaching and education professions—particularly for future elementary school teachers—as part of the teacher education reform. These changes open up new opportunities and allow us to offer programs that are increasingly tailored to the realities of the field and the expectations of our students.
Our faculty strives to be inclusive, as part of a university committed to equal opportunity and dedicated to the success of every student, regardless of their background or life story.
During your time as a student at our Faculty, you can count on the support of our faculty and administrative staff, who will always be there for you—demanding but committed to your success. For many of you, your time as a student will require hard work and sacrifice, but it will also be an opportunity for wonderful discoveries, encounters, and experiences that will gradually shape your professional and civic future.
Be curious, engaged, and open-minded: your success will depend on your commitment, but you'll never be alone.
On behalf of the entire team at the School of Education, I wish you a wonderful start to the school year and an academic year filled with success, new connections, and exciting projects.
Agnès Perrin-Doucey, doyenne of the Faculty of Education
