Project Passerelle: Coming Together Through Literature
The Passerelle project aims to enhance students’ general knowledge at the Nîmes, Perpignan, and Carcassonne campuses. It is based on a common theme that integrates cultural activities, field trips, and innovative educational initiatives linked to academic disciplines. Each campus adapts this approach to its specific context: a “spectator’s journey,” a literary café, and hands-on workshops in Nîmes; a digital historical timeline and cultural outings in Perpignan; and science-themed games and cultural outings in Carcassonne. The project contributes to the development of language skills (written and oral), intellectual curiosity, and the acquisition of knowledge.
Through individual and group reading, meetings with authors, writing workshops, and literary events, the Passerelle project invites future education professionals to explore a wide variety of texts, practices, and literary forms. It supports students’ success and engagement starting in their first year.
The goal is to make literature a space for discovery, reflection, creation, and sharing. Students are thus encouraged to develop their own relationship with literary works and to experiment with approaches they can later apply in their future professional settings.
The Passerelle project includes the following components:
- Literary Cafés
- Participation in the CRD literary prize
- Participation in literature-related events (comédie du livre, faites de la lecture, nuit de la lecture)
- Meetings with Authors and Figures from the Cultural World
Game Workshops in Carcassonne
At the Carcassonne campus, the Passerelle project takes the form of game workshops, among other initiatives. Much like literary cafés, these workshops offer students a space for discovery, discussion, and reflection, using games as a tool to foster general knowledge and intellectual curiosity.
