Last March, students from the Carcassonne site of the Faculty of Education took part in the Inter-School Olympics, an event organized by the City of Carcassonne. Their enthusiasm and involvement were widely praised by sports educators, local councillors and officials from the city's Education department. As true driving forces behind the event, they proposed and implemented a variety of activities, helping to energize the day.
Two teams in particular received awards, one for originality, the other for fair play.
This event is part of the CTOE* call for projects, initiated by the City, and with which the Faculty of Education is associated. At the invitation of the local authorities, the students took part in the final preparatory meeting for the Olympics. They suggested parading the teams in costume and organizing a giant flash mob during the lunch break to energize the event. To do this, they took the initiative of contacting the BDEs of other establishments to motivate the teams and ensure the animation of this break.
On the day of the Olympics, participants competed in a variety of events: archery, long jump, relay race, padel, rugby, soccer, fun run, rope pull, sack race and circuit training.
