A look back at the innovative rest room project for hypersensory disorders, dysmenorrhea and endometriosis-related disorders on the Perpignan campus.
In 2023, the Faculty of Education undertook a remarkable initiative focused on inclusivity and understanding invisible disabilities. This commitment manifested itself in two major ways: the participation of the Bureau des Étudiants (BdE) in the University of Montpellier's CONECT#4 call for projects, and the fitting out of a rest room meeting the specific needs of invisible disabilities.
The inclusive break room
The end of November 2023 marked the completion of the soothing room, designed to provide a quiet space for students with hypersensory disorders, dysmenorrhea, and endometriosis-related disorders. Featuring soft lighting, soothing sounds and comfortable furnishings, this room meets the specific needs of each individual.

Results and Impact
The rest room was an immediate success, with occupancy rates frequently exceeding 50%, even reaching 100% during the day. Feedback from students underlines the effectiveness of the facilities, particularly the light therapy and hot-water bottles, which were so popular that we made additional hot-water bottles available for students to use during classes.
A project acclaimed by all our students and partners!
