Thanks to the A.L.i.V.E (Amélioration des lieux de vie étudiante) project, launched by the UM 3 years ago, which enabled students and the administrations of the various UFRs, Schools and Institutes to take advantage of the CVEC (Contribution Vie Étudiante de Campus) to improve student facilities, the Montpellier site has created a relaxation area for students.
To meet students' need for a dedicated place to have lunch, rest or work, the Fde has decided to create a student life area on the ground floor of building J. These improvements will provide greater comfort for students and take better account of their needs, which have been widely expressed during student life commissions and by student association representatives.

Designed using wood materials that comply with ecological standards, and adapted for students with disabilities, this convivial space features an herbal tea room with a drinks and sandwich dispenser, a water fountain, 2 microwaves and a large refrigerator, as well as a large relaxation room equipped with sofas, tables and standing tables.
This space is completed by a wooden deck.
A bio-bucket will enable organic waste to be collected and taken to the fountain composter (a prototype resulting from a project with the CNRS), to be installed in early 2023 on the Fde terrace, next to the Crous cafeteria.
This project is designed to meet students' needs and foster the social ties that are so crucial to university success.
Opening on Wednesday, March 20 at 12pm.
