Q: What is a pre-professionalization teaching unit?

A pre-professionalization UE is a course that can be taken during the bachelor's degree course by students intending to become teachers in one discipline or another. It enables these students to acquire an initial understanding of the teaching profession.

Q: The 1st year of the MEEF master's degree prepares students for the competitive examination for schoolteachers. Is there a specific preparation for the external examination for regional languages?

Yes, this special competition is prepared at two sites of the Faculty of Education, depending on the regional language concerned: - Catalan at the Perpignan site; - Occitan at the Carcassonne and Mende sites. In addition, the Master 1 MEEF 1er degré langue régionale occitan is also offered in FADH (hybrid distance learning) on the Carcassonne site (see the section on Master 1 MEEF 1er degré en FADH for more information). If you wish to register specifically for this competitive examination, you can submit a specific application on the Mon Master portal. This application can be added to any applications for the Master 1 MEEF 1er degré that you may already have submitted.

Q: I would like to enroll in the 1st year of a Master MEEF 1er degré at the start of the new academic year: what is the procedure?

Registration is a two-stage process: first, you need to submit an application via the Mon Master portal; a link to this application is already available on our website, in the "Registration" section. Applications (also known as pre-registrations) will be open from Tuesday February 25 to Monday March 24, 2025 , for all our Masters programs. As the MEEF 1er degré master's program is offered at our five sites (Carcassonne, Mende, Montpellier, Nîmes and Perpignan), you will need to submit one application per site, depending on which site(s) you wish to apply to. By applying to several Faculty of Education sites, you multiply your chances of being selected and of joining the course at the start of the next academic year. To support your application, you'll need to provide a number of documents, some of which will be used to rank all applicants. In particular, the following elements will be taken into account: - Whether or not you have taken a "pre-professionalization" teaching unit during your bachelor's degree; this unit must be validated and appear on one of your bachelor's degree transcripts; - The degree you are preparing (or have already obtained, if applicable); - The series of your baccalauréat ; - The averages obtained in the first five semesters of your licence (the 2 semesters of L1, the 2 semesters of L2, and the 1st semester of L3). If your application is accepted at one of these sites, you will then receive an assignment proposal, directly via the Mon Master portal. If you accept this offer, you will then be informed of the final registration procedure.

Q: I'm interested in the professional degree "Project Coordination in Environmental Education and Sustainable Development" (CEEDDR): how do I enroll?

Registrations are managed directly by the training site, i.e. the Institut Agro, Florac site. Q: I'm repeating or tripling my year (L1, L2 or L3): when and how do I register?

After the academic jury on July 3, 2025 (for repeat students), you will receive an e-mail from the Faculty of Education's Registrar's Office with details of how to register for the following year. Please note : due to the limited number of places available in L1, L2 and L3, registration deadlines are very tight: for the 2025-2026 year, you will only be able to register between July 7 and 14, 2025 . Enrolment is exclusively online.

Q: I'm already a Bachelor's student. What happens if I don't manage to complete my degree? Can I repeat a year? And what about tripling my degree?

In accordance with current regulations, students have the right to repeat a bachelor's degree. However, the University of Montpellier sets a limit on the number of times a student may register for a given degree; thus, for bachelor's degrees, a student may register a maximum of six times for the same course. If you do not validate your year, you will receive an e-mail at the beginning of July telling you how to re-register.

Q: I've paid my tuition fees and in the meantime I've been awarded a scholarship: can I get my money back, and if so, when and how?

If you have paid your tuition fees before receiving notification from CROUS that you have been awarded a grant, you are entitled to a refund. To do so, contact the Montpellier Faculty of Education's schooling department, which will send you the form to complete and return, together with the corresponding supporting documents. If you have also paid the CVEC, you can request a refund directly on the website https://cvec.etudiant.gouv.fr/ .

Q: I signed up for one of your training courses, but I finally gave up (resigned): can I get a refund of the sums paid, and if so, when and how?

As far as the refund of your registration fees is concerned, it all depends on the date of your withdrawal or resignation. All resignations must be reported to the Faculty of Education's Registrar's Office, which will send you a form to complete, containing all the information you need to know if you wish to cancel your enrolment. If you withdraw before September 1 , 2025, you will be reimbursed for your enrolment fees by contacting the Faculty of Education's Schooling Department, which will give you a form to fill in and return, together with a letter specifying your request, a bank details slip and your receipt (which you will find on your Scol'Pass). Registration fees will be refunded by bank transfer within a minimum of 2 months. If you withdraw after September 1 , 2025, the refund is not automatic, but must be reviewed by an exemption commission. The deadline for returning the refund application is set by the University of Montpellier; for the 2024-2025 year, this deadline was November 1, 2024. The exemption commission meets every year in November. To request an exceptional refund, please contact the Education Department, which will provide you with a form entitled "Demande de remboursement exceptionnel des droits d'inscription" ("Request for exceptional refund of tuition fees"). Please return this form with a detailed letter explaining why you have withdrawn from your course, as well as your bank details and receipt of payment. If the commission accepts your request, you will be informed by post and reimbursed within a minimum of 2 months of the decision being sent to you. If the commission refuses your request, you will be informed by post; no appeal is possible in the event of refusal. The CVEC procedure is carried out directly online, on the https://cvec.etudiant.gouv.fr/ website.

Q: What is the CVEC, and how much is it?

CVEC is the Student and Campus Life Contribution. Its purpose is to help create, consolidate and strengthen various services: This contribution is "intended to promote the reception and social, health, cultural and sporting support of students, and to bolster the preventive and health education actions carried out for their benefit" (article L. 841-5 of the Education Code). Payment is made directly to the CROUS, via the website: cvec.etudiant.gouv.fr For information, the amount set for the 2024-2025 academic year was 103 euros. The fee is waived for students receiving a grant or annual allowance under the specific annual aid scheme, refugee students, students benefiting from subsidiary protection, and students registered as asylum seekers and entitled to remain in France. Students who have received their conditional grant are automatically detected on the cvec.etudiant.gouv.fr website, and can download their CVEC payment certificate once they have completed the online procedure, without paying or advancing the fee. What's more, if you become eligible for contribution exemption during the academic year, you can obtain a refund of the contribution you previously paid. Paying the CVEC is a prerequisite for enrolling at the University. Whether you are subject to it or exempt, you can obtain a certificate of payment of the CVEC at the end of the process, which must be provided when you register. The university will not be able to finalize your registration without this certificate.
