FDE students win a trophy at the Carcassonne Student Olympics

On Thursday, March 12, 2026, the Cité des Sports in Carcassonne buzzed with excitement during the 2026 Student Olympics, an event that has become a staple of local student life. Created two years ago by the City, this event brought together more than 150 students from various higher education institutions in Carcassonne, with a clear goal: to invigorate student life and foster exchanges among young people in the region.
Among the participating teams, the Faculty of Education—Carcassonne campus—stood out in particular. With five teams—comprising some thirty undergraduate and first-year graduate students—the Faculty demonstrated remarkable dedication, which was widely praised.
This year, a new feature marked the event: the creation of an inter-school trophy recognizing athletic performance, commitment, and enthusiasm. It was an award that students from the Faculty of Education brilliantly won at the end of an intense and unifying day. The trophy will be officially presented to them shortly, once it has been engraved with the school’s name and the year 2026. It will be kept for one year before being put up for grabs again at the next event.
Beyond the performance itself, it was above all the collective energy and camaraderie that defined the day. “Exhausted… but happy!” sums up the students’ mood at the end of the events. A successful gathering, part of the calls for projects by the Coordination Territoriale Occitanie Est (CTOE), supported by the CROUS and the Occitanie Region, and aimed at strengthening student life in balanced university towns.
The School of Education, fully committed to this initiative, is delighted with this great success and looks forward to seeing its students again at the next event.
