How to get those who aren't in school into school? - Antoine Gentil
Antoine Gentil is a specialized teacher. He worked in the child welfare system and in prisons before founding the experimental Starter program (Grenoble Academy), which each year takes in 15 young people in ninth grade who have dropped out of school. With his team, he helps them to pass their school-leaving exams and choose the right career path, while working to restore their self-esteem. He is the central character in the luminous documentary Un bon début, by Agnès and Xabi Molia, who followed him for a year in the Starter class. In 2024, he published Classe réparatoire, un chemin pour se réconcilier avec l'école, with Presses universitaires grenobloises.
