Why fish? Essentially, because they're living beings of great diversity, but they don't have any emotional interaction with us humans. We don't breathe the same air. At their best, they provide us with entertainment in exotic aquariums. At worst (for them), they're on our plates.
Fish, friendly collaborators! There are so many of them, of so many kinds, shapes and colors, from fresh or salt water, cold or tropical, surface or deep sea, sober or sumptuous, that just when I think I've invented one, miracle: it exists. None of my fish is pure invention.
My fish are an infinitely rich subject: the seas and oceans have become our dustbins, but also the graveyard for migrants fleeing misery or war. They are still, however, the place where we dream and dazzle.
I work on series, each with a theme and a procedure.
