Séphora Allouchfirst vice-dean of students: an inspiring career serving the university community
The Faculty of Education is proud to announce the appointment of 20-year-old Séphora Allouch to the position of Vice-Dean of Students. Currently enrolled in the Pluridisciplinarité et Métiers de l'Enseignement, de l'Education et de la Formation bachelor's degree program, Séphora plans to pursue her dream of becoming a school teacher with a MEEF1er degré master's degree.
Séphora has always known she wanted to work with children. Driven by a strong desire to pass on her knowledge, she obtained her BAFA at the age of 17. Her career path is all the more remarkable in that she is dyslexic and dysorthographic, which represents a real challenge for her studies and future career. Despite these difficulties, Séphora has always been an excellent student. With a bac ST2S (Sciences et Technologies de la Santé et du Social), she wasn't always encouraged to go into teaching, but her determination guided her. "My ST2S bac is very well suited to this field. It deals with social and health issues, and essential subjects like mathematics", she asserts.
Always keen to support others, Séphora has been a class delegate every year since 5th grade. Her candidacy for vice-dean of students is a natural extension of this commitment. "I love the Fde and want to help improve students' lives," she explains. Her two-year term will begin with the development of her mission, which will involve meeting students from the Fde's five training sites to co-construct and drive forward projects. She will also co-lead the Student Life Commission.
Highly committed to her studies, Séphora embodies the values espoused by the Fde, and appreciates its perimeter and friendly atmosphere. She is currently doing an internship in a Montpellier school with a CE2 class, confirming her career choice. She emphasizes the importance of the opportunities offered by the faculty, particularly the internships abroad. Last year, she spent two and a half months in Finland, discovering a new educational system. "It was an incredible opportunity, especially with the financial support I received," she says.
With her enthusiasm, determination and desire to make a difference, Séphora Allouch is ready to do her part to improve the living and studying conditions of students at the Faculty of Education.
The mission of this position, recommended by the University of Montpellier's Student Life Master Plan, is different from and complementary to that of the elected members of the Board or the Student Office. Its aim is to enable students to work with the Faculty of Education's management team on student life issues, drawing on feedback from their peers on all five of the Faculty's campuses.
