The exhibition will take the form of a market, a teeming space where children's and adults' creations will meet, exploring the links between aesthetics and gourmet abundance.
Résidence(s) croisée(s) 2024-2025

Since 2016, the Faculty of Education has offered an annual autumn artist residency at its Montpellier site. At the same time, the Florian nursery school, in partnership with MO.CO., has initiated an annual residency cycle. In 2020, the two residencies were structured into a single course. The 2024-25 edition of the Résidence(s) croisée(s) will be the fourth in this tripartite partnership. The program welcomes Taiwanese-born artist Chia LEE
The cross-residency will take place over 3 key periods: a residency at the FDE-UM in autumn 2024 (creation, personal exhibition and workshops), a residency by the same artist at the Florian school, in partnership with the MO.CO., in spring 2025 (creation, workshops, exhibition for parents) and a restitution period in the form of an exhibition of the work produced by students from the faculty and pupils from the Florian school in May-June 2025 in dialogue with the artist's artistic work at the Faculty of Education.
Chia LEE is a multidisciplinary artist of Taiwanese origin who works with video and installations composed of a variety of materials. Through her works, she explores the fluidity between humans and non-humans, whether animals, plants or objects. As part of the Résidence(s) Croisée(s), focusing on the theme of the Arts of Taste, Chia will propose reflections on different types of exchange linked to cooking and food: whether it's the exchange of products in a market, the sharing of culinary know-how, accounts of food experiences, or the circulation of molecules and energy at the heart of food practices.
During her residency, Chia LEE will offer creative workshops for students, teachers and staff at the Faculty of Education. Evolving between two cultures and driven by a gourmet curiosity, she will bring fused flavors to her workshops, inviting participants to discover new ways of linking art and food. The residency will conclude with a final market presentation, where the ideas and creations born of this exploration will be shared with the public. Come and meet Chia and discuss your experiences of food, culture and art!
