Back to school at the Faculty of Education!

Since the end of August, the Faculty of Education at the University of Montpellier has had the pleasure of welcoming its new students. Future teachers, young trainee teachers, contract teachers or students in initial training: each is embarking on a new stage in his or her academic and professional career.

A gradual return to work on all sites

By the end of September, almost 2,700 students will have started the new academic year at one of the Faculty's five training sites (Carcassonne, Mende, Montpellier, Nîmes and Perpignan).

  • On August 25, Carole Drucker-Godard, Rectrice de l'académie de Montpellier et de la région académique Occitanie, and Philippe Augé, President of the University of Montpellier, welcomed the new trainee teachers who had passed the competitive recruitment exams. These new teachers are continuing their training in a Master 2 Métiers de l'Enseignement, de l'Éducation et de la Formation (MEEF) program.

  • On August 27, Mrs Agnès Perrin-Doucey, Dean of the Faculty, welcomed the students in the 1st year of the MEEF Master's program in primary and secondary education. They will be the last to sit the M2 competitive entrance exam, scheduled for 2026, before the reform of the courses.

  • On September 1, it was the turn of Master 1 MEEF students to go back to school.

  • Finally, on September 4, the Faculty welcomed around 300 students enrolled in the Licence 1 "Pluridisciplinarité et métiers de l'enseignement, de l'éducation et de la formation" (Pluri and MEEF) program. Spread over the five sites, they were received by the Dean and site managers. The day before, students enrolled in the preparatory course for the professorship of schools (PPPE) had also passed through the doors of the Faculty.

Training tomorrow's professionals

These different courses open the way to a wide variety of professions: schoolteachers, secondary school teachers, but also careers in mediation, training and, more broadly, education.

Through its teaching and support programs, the Faculty of Education strives to offer every student the best possible conditions for success and professional integration.

A year full of projects

Throughout the year, students benefit from a stimulating learning environment, combining theoretical courses, work experience and internships. They will also take part in a wide range of events and teaching projects that give rhythm to the life of the Faculty and reinforce the link between training and the field.

The Faculty of Education wishes all its students a wonderful academic year2025-2026, rich in discovery, learning and success.
