Portrait of Frédérique Bisilliat-Donnet, head of the Fde documentation service and 18-meter Field Crossbow French Champion.

Frédérique Bisilliat-Donnet, who joined the Faculty of Education in 2022, has a singular background, oscillating between metropolitan France and the Pacific, between her career as a teacher-documentalist and her passion for shooting sports.

Originally from Savoie, she left her native region in 1995 to join her parents, retired teachers and full-time sailors, in French Polynesia, where she settled and began her professional career. She remained there for 18 years.

Armed with a Capes in documentation, she worked in Papeete in a general and vocational high school, then in the library of the University of French Polynesia, before taking charge of the library of the IUFM of the same university. A career punctuated by 6 years sailing the Pacific, from Papeete to Alaska...

Returning to mainland France in 2013, she was seconded to Canopé Haute-Marne before joining the Faculty of Education as head of the Documentation Service.

A woman of passion, Frédérique couldn't stay on dry land without setting herself new challenges, and it was at a chance meeting at an association forum that she tried her hand at rifle shooting (just to see) .... And hit the bull's-eye! Spotted by the club's President, she was invited to join them and launched herself into this new activity, demonstrating real skills that led her to join the women's crossbow team, which was looking for a new team member. Her natural ability quickly earned her a place on the team.

Numerous individual and team competitions followed in the 18-meter Field Crossbow discipline. This sport, affiliated to the French Shooting Federation, is played with a crossbow consisting of a hand-cocked bow, a dacron (nylon) string and hand-cocked aluminum arrows. Each match is played with 60 arrows divided into 2 rounds, themselves divided into 10 volleys of 3 arrows to be shot in 2 minutes. A sport requiring skill, self-control and concentration.

After winning several regional championships, it was with her club Gazelec Nîmes that, on February 10, 2025, Frédérique won the French championship in the Vétéran Dame category at the Centre National de Tir Sportif in Châteauroux, scoring 552 points out of 600, well ahead of her co-medallists.

An inspiring career that combines passion and excellence, both in the library and on the shooting range!
