As part of the ALiVE project (Amélioration des lieux de vie étudiante) initiated by the University of Montpellier in 2020 and financed by the CVEC, the five sites of the Faculty of Education have benefited from improvements aimed at optimizing the living environment for students. Up to now, these improvements have mainly concerned outdoor spaces, with the installation of terraces and improvements to catering facilities.

Committed to student well-being, the Faculty of Education is developing initiatives to provide areas for relaxation. While the Mende, Montpellier, Nîmes and Perpignan sites have already completed their facilities, the Carcassonne site is currently in the process of creating a dedicated space.

Carcassonne

A rest area is currently being fitted out on the Carcassonne site, on the 1st floor of the main building. Designed to provide students with a quiet place to relax, it will be available throughout the academic year. Outside, a rest area has been set aside in the park to allow everyone to enjoy a moment of calm in the open air.

Mende

The Mende site has a rest area for calm and relaxation. It also features a special area for nursing mothers, enabling them to express their milk in complete privacy. Accessible all day long, this area is equipped with soft lighting and comfortable footstools, providing a setting conducive to relaxation.

Nîmes

A room on the first floor of the main building has been renovated in a zen-like style. Close to the administration and resource center, it provides rapid assistance to students in case of need. Equipped with a sofa, poufs, dimmed lights, electric hot water bottles and plaids, this room welcomes students, alone or in small groups, to rest, relax or take a nap.

Perpignan

A forerunner in this field, the Perpignan site will be equipped in 2023 with a soothing room specially designed for students suffering from hypersensory disorders, dysmenorrhea, endometriosis and other invisible disabilities. Soft lighting, soothing sounds and comfortable furniture provide an environment tailored to specific needs. The room was an immediate success, with occupancy rates often exceeding 50% and sometimes reaching 100% during the day. Students particularly appreciate the light therapy and hot-water bottles.
