Erasmus+ training (STT) and teaching (STA) mobility
The European Erasmus+ program for higher education offers administrative administrative, technical and teaching staff mobility for training purposes with a European partner (university, language center, company).
The aim of this mobility can be to exchange best practices, improve foreign language skills, or meet with companies to set up student internships (non-exhaustive list). Staff can thus give a European dimension to their missions and improve their skills -HRS4R-.
Two types of mobility are possible:
1 - Training mobility (STT)
Administrative, technical and teaching staff can carry out training mobility with a European partner (university, language center, company).
There is no obligation to have a supporting Erasmus+ inter-institutional agreement.
The aim of this mobility can be to exchange best practices, improve foreign language skills, or meet with companies to set up student internships (non-exhaustive list).
This enables staff to give a European dimension to their missions and enhance their skills.
The eligible training period is from 2 days to 2 months, excluding travel time.
In the selection process, the committee will give priority to administrative and technical staff.
Lecturers can apply for other types of funding under the Erasmus+ program.
Selection takes account of the existing budget and is based on the quality of the project. The committee is careful to ensure that all applicants are selected equally. Priority will be given to staff who have never taken part in an Erasmus+ program.
Travel and accommodation funding will be made available to selected staff, within the limits of the financial envelope granted by the Erasmus+ France Agency.
Depending on the destination and duration of the mobility, a contribution from the Faculty of Education may be requested if the cost exceeds the dedicated budget.
Application forms are also available on the intranet. intranet. Please complete and sign the application form and return it to mobility@umontpellier.fr.
2 - Teaching mobility (STA)
Teaching staff can carry out teaching assignments in a partner European establishment.
This involves teaching courses integrated into the official program of the partner institution (cf. valid Erasmus+ inter-institutional agreement, with planned teaching mobility).

The duration of mobility can vary from 2 days (minimum 8 hours of teaching, excluding conferences) to 2 months, excluding travel time.
Travel and accommodation funding will be made available to selected staff, within the limits of the financial envelope granted by the Erasmus+ France Agency.
Depending on the destination and duration of the mobility, a contribution from the Faculty of Education may be requested if the cost exceeds the dedicated budget.
The call for applications is now open, and detailed requests will be validated on a first-come, first-served basis.
Please forward to the mobility department (mobility@umontpellier.fr) :
- the precise dates of the planned mobility,
- the name and code of the Erasmus+ partner institution,
- a letter of invitation from the partner specifying the teaching assignment, the number of hours (minimum 8 hours, excluding lectures which are not eligible) and the dates of the mobility.
How to apply to Erasmus and receive financial support for expenses
- First of all, the employee must discuss his or her request for mobility with his or her department/management. The latter may decide to cancel or postpone the request, depending on the needs of the department or if the project is not relevant.
- The agent must search for mobility independently. For teaching mobility, he or she must be invited by a teacher from a partner establishment. For training mobility, there is an Erasmus Staff platform that lists Staff Weeks in Europe (http://staffmobility.eu/staff-week-search), or the agent can contact the language center or company directly.
- For language center placements, there will certainly be a registration fee to pay. These are the responsibility of the agent's UM department.
- Once the application campaign is online, the employee must complete an application form, which will be examined by the award committee. The form includes all the information needed to understand the project, as well as the agent's duties in the UM department.
- Once the award committee has passed, the successful agent will receive notification of the amount of the grant (travel and subsistence expenses), and will be asked to complete and sign the mobility contract and the teaching contract at the host institution, and return them to the Mobility Department of the International Relations Department for signature by Mr François PIERROT (Vice-President in charge of International Relations).
- Once the contracts have been signed, the payment of 70% of the total grant will be made by the DRI Finance Department, and the agent will ideally receive it before his or her mobility.
- To receive the balance of 30% of the amount at the end of the mobility program, the agent must submit a certificate of attendance signed by the host establishment.
PLEASE NOTE: it's best to get all the information you need, and to have a concrete idea of where and when you plan to move, well in advance of the start of the application process.
