Raid Multisport in shared practice on the Nîmes campus

On Wednesday October 11, second-year students in the Pluridisciplinarité and MEEF bachelor's degrees at the FDE Nîmes site, as part of their training at the FDE, organized a shared practice multisport raid on the Bastide sports field. The event was organized in partnership with the Comité Départemental du Sport Adapté du Gard (CDSA 30) and the Nîmes municipal sports department.

  • But what is a shared practice?

The aim is to bring together sportsmen and women from the FFSA (Fédération Française du Sport Adapté) and students from the FDE in mixed teams, to share a special moment together around physical exercise.

For an entire morning, our students proposed a multi-activity raid, consisting of a series of sporting events (orienteering course, team games, canoeing, archery, throwing games, etc.), where each workshop was designed, set up and run by the students, with the particularity of making creative use of the natural areas of the Bastide estate.

Around 80 children, teenagers and young adults from institutions (IME, ITEP) from all over the Gard department teamed up with our students - over 150 participants - to test their mettle on the various circuits and workshops.

Of course, the main thrust of the day's activities lay in the human encounters generated by the event, rather than in the competitive confrontation. The event was a great success, a memorable and enriching experience for the young people who attended, as well as for our students and their instructors!

Many thanks to everyone involved in this wonderful adventure!

  • Here are a few student reactions to the day:

"We really enjoyed doing this experiment with these athletes. We had a lot of apprehensions, but in the end it went really well, and it was really interesting to see how we could modify the game to suit our audience. Very good experience, thank you very much!

"... we were delighted to establish a relationship with the group we followed, we were able to assert ourselves, trust them and have them trust us in return. This human experience confirmed our vocation, and we're looking forward to working with students again to put our creations into practice."

"It was great! We had a lot of apprehensions, but in the end we had a lot of fun with the kids and the educators."
