How can the exhibition become a space for dialogue between cultures, disciplines and points of view?
This is the question at the heart of this international masterclass co-constructed by the Faculty of Education of the University of Montpellier (FDE-UM) and the Alice Salomon Hochschule (ASH) in Berlin.
For several months, students and teachers from the two universities will work together on artistic and cultural mediation, from the conception of an exhibition to its implementation: creation of artifacts, scenography, writing, communication.
The aim is to combine educational and artistic approaches, and to reflect on the place of art in society and its power to transform, particularly through the way it looks at "the other" and marginalized audiences.
The program includes a series of videoconference seminars in autumn 2025, followed by two weeks of immersion: in Berlin in October, then in Montpellier in November.
This week, the students continue their exploration of Montpellier with a welcome by the director and the International Relations office. They will take part in the November 11th ceremony, visit the Antigone district and see the Nécropolis performance at La Vignette. They will also discover several emblematic sites of culture and knowledge: the scientific collection of the University of Montpellier, the Musée Fabre, the Médiathèque Shakespeare and the photo exhibition La Peine at the Triolet campus.
A masterclass based on exchange, creativity and international cooperation - led by Andrea Plöger (ASH) and Caroline Blanvillain (FDE-UM), with the support of the teaching teams and international relations departments.
A wonderful human and artistic adventure in the service of open and committed cultural mediation.
